Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fibre Optic Splicer to join our telecommunications team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for splicing, terminating, and testing fibre optic cables for new installations, upgrades, and maintenance of fibre networks.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fibre optic cables.

Conduct OTDR, power meter, and light source testing to ensure fibre integrity.

Read and interpret splicing diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.

Install and maintain enclosures, closures, and panels.

Troubleshoot and repair fibre outages, cuts, and damage.

Maintain accurate records of splicing work, including test results and diagrams.

Adhere to safety standards and practices, including working at heights and confined spaces.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field crews.

Requirements:

Proven experience in fibre splicing (minimum 1–2 years preferred).

Knowledge of industry-standard tools and testing equipment (., OTDR, fusion splicer, cleaver).

Strong understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fibre.

Ability to read and follow technical documents and drawings.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

Physical ability to work outdoors and in various environments.
