duties and responsibilities

• supplier/vendor management for all domestic and international part development

• cross functional collaboration with r&d to design vehicle, work on engineering and manufacturing challenges

• define sourcing strategy for assigned commodities to develop parts for different car programs

• focus on developing supplier, vendor for product development

• clear understanding of automotive parts development with special focus on chassis /suspension / wheel trims parts

• ensuring cost reduction by developing alternate suppliers

• product cost management for all responsible systems

• suggest solutions for design and process improvements

• able to handle multiple commodity engineers. provide constructive feedback.

• visit vendors for part development, qc and process audit.

• negotiating contracts to get the desired pricing, analyzing multiple vendors to decide which vendor to use for a particular product / component

required knowledge, skills and abilities

• 14+ years of experience in component development and sourcing chassis /suspension/ wheel ends. ev industry experience will be added advantage

• understanding of component development and sourcing function

• sound knowledge of manufacturing processes and system processes (ppap, apqp)

• good knowledge of manufacturing process like castings, machining and fabrications

• prior vendor development experience is must

• excellent written and verbal communication skills
