We are seeking an individual with expert level experience with WordPress and PHP to enhance, improve, and implement WordPress solutions. The ideal candidate will have both architecture and design experience along with hands on development experience.

We are looking for an individual to evaluate the existing architecture and design and participate in the development and delivery of modifications and enhancements. The candidate must be able to work both independently and as a lead to help mentor / train other application developers so that over time they improve their knowledge with the WordPress platform.

In addition to a focus on WordPress, this candidate will also be working with our Shopify eCommerce platform implementing modifications and enhancements to the system. The candidate will be working with an experienced Shopify resource.

Candidates must have a passion for technology and a flexible, creative approach to problem solving and have the ability to take technical ownership with respect to design and development changes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Evaluate the existing architecture and design of our content management offerings built on the WordPress platform and document and recommend changes.

Design, develop and implement changes and enhancements to our existing WordPress offerings, acting as the technical lead and individual contributor

Translate functional requirements from business users into sound technical designs that meet business objectives.

Provide subject matter expertise for use of the WordPress platform

Working with the infrastructure team, recommend architecture changes to improve performance and availability.

Proactively offer solutions to complex technical problems

Qualifications

More than 2 years of experience in PHP programming, MySQL, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and WordPress

Extensive knowledge and experience in WordPress development

Experience with Shopify development including module installing
