freelance mechanical designer – cad / fixture / automation projects

job description:

we are an engineering consultancy based in the . (engineeringxyz) looking for freelance mechanical designers to support upcoming automation and custom machine projects.

responsibilities:

create 3d cad models (solidworks, fusion 360, inventor, or similar)

prepare 2d manufacturing drawings with tolerances

design simple fixtures, transmission systems, and automation modules

support optimization of existing designs (lightweighting, cost reduction)

requirements:

strong skills in mechanical design and cad software

knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, plastics)

ability to communicate clearly in english (written)

reliable and able to meet deadlines

nice to have:

experience with automation, robotics, or special purpose machines

basic fea or motion analysis skills
