We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Software Engineer - Security to join the CDP

Data Engineering organization. This role is focused on identifying, analyzing, and fixing security

vulnerabilities (CVEs) by developing a deep understanding of underlying architectures and

interactions across multiple platform components

As a Software Engineer- Security you will.

Security Engineering & CVE Remediation

● Analyze, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities (CVEs) across the CDE stack and its

dependent components.

● Understand vulnerability root causes by diving deep into platform architecture,

dependencies, and third-party libraries.

● Design and implement secure fixes that minimize functional and performance impact while

maintaining backward compatibility.

Platform & Architecture Understanding

● Gain working knowledge of the CDE architecture, including Spark and Airflow components.

● Implement and validate security fixes across relevant services and components.

● Review code and changes with security considerations in mind.

● Work closely with Product Security, Release, and Quality teams to deliver fixes on time.

● Help ensure fixes are release-ready and upstream dependencies are consumed safely.

We’re Excited About You If You Have Experience

● 4+ years of experience as a software engineer working on backend, platform,

infrastructure, or security-related systems.

Security & Systems Knowledge

● Hands-on experience or strong interest in vulnerability analysis, CVE remediation, or secure

software development.

● Understanding of common security issues in distributed systems, cloud-native platforms, or

open-source software.

Programming Skills

● Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and systems or object-oriented

programming.

● Proficiency in one or more of: Java/Golang (must), Python

Cloud & Containers

● Experience or strong working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments

such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

● Understanding of container security, dependency management, and runtime isolation is a

plus.

Education

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical

experience.

You May Also Have (Preferred Qualifications)

● Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows

● Experience working with Product Security or vulnerability management processes.

● Familiarity with CVSS scoring, KEV prioritization, or security advisories.

● Contributions to open-source projects or security fixes.

● Exposure to technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Airflow, or similar platforms is a

strong plus
