key responsibilities and duties
i. sales strategy and planning
goal setting: develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand the company's customer base and ensure strong market presence.
forecasting: prepare accurate sales forecasts, setting individual and team sales quotas, and analyzing market trends and competitive conditions.
budget management: oversee the sales budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize sales productivity.
ii. team leadership and management
recruitment and training: recruit, onboard, and train new sales executives; continuously coach and mentor the team to improve their sales techniques, product knowledge, and target achievement.
performance management: monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, conduct performance reviews, and implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
motivation: motivate the team to achieve sales goals through contests, incentives, and a positive team culture.
iii. execution and operations
pipeline oversight: actively manage the entire sales pipeline, ensuring accurate reporting and efficient movement of leads through the sales funnel.
key account management: manage relationships with key clients, handling large or complex negotiations and closing strategic deals.
process improvement: continuously evaluate and implement improvements to the sales process, methodologies, and tools (including crm systems) to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
crm utilization: ensure the sales team consistently and accurately utilizes the crm (customer relationship management) system for tracking sales activity, customer data, and lead status.
iv. reporting and communication
reporting: generate detailed sales reports, showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion for the senior leadership team.
collaboration: collaborate with the marketing department to align sales efforts with marketing campaigns and lead generation activities.
