job summary
the industrial electrician is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within industrial facilities. the role requires sound knowledge of three-phase power systems, control panels, automation, and adherence to safety standards. the electrician ensures efficient power distribution, continuous equipment operation, and compliance with industrial electrical codes.
key responsibilities
three phase power system management
install, test, and troubleshoot three-phase circuits and distribution systems.
ensure proper load balancing, power factor correction, and electrical safety.
industrial wiring & cabling
execute wiring, conduit, and cabling work for machinery and panels.
handle armoured cable termination, cable tray installation, and db panel connections.
motor & control panel operations
install and maintain ac/dc motors, starters (dol, star-delta, vfd).
assemble and troubleshoot control panels and mccs.
plc & automation support
assist in automation setups using plcs, relays, timers, and sensors.
understand control logic and signal wiring for automated systems.
testing & fault diagnosis
use multimeters, meggers, and clamp meters for fault detection.
diagnose short circuits, voltage fluctuations, and overload issues.
electrical safety & loto compliance
follow all lockout��tagout (loto) and ppe safety protocols.
maintain high standards of electrical safety and housekeeping.
preventive & predictive maintenance
plan and execute maintenance schedules for uninterrupted operation.
keep maintenance records, logbooks, and performance data.
industrial machine support
work on equipment such as compressors, pumps, conveyors, and cnc machines.
understand machine control wiring and protection systems.
drawing & documentation
read and interpret electrical diagrams and single line drawings (sld).
prepare wiring and maintenance documentation as per standards.
instrumentation & sensors (advanced)
knowledge of proximity, temperature, and pressure sensors.
basic calibration and integration with control circuits.
key skills & competencies
excellent technical knowledge of lt/ht systems.
ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
proficient in the use of testing and measuring instruments.
strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

qualification & experience
iti / diploma in electrical engineering.
minimum 2��5 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance or project work.
knowledge of plc systems and automation preferred.
