responsibilities for radiology technician
• prepare examination room, equipment, and instruments per patient needs
• position patient correctly for radiological procedures
• operate x-ray machine according to established procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort
• develop, process, and select radiological film
• review and evaluate images to determine quality and if they need to be redone
• answer patient questions as they relate to the procedure
• operate within radiologic standards of care
• document patient care records in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
qualifications for radiology technician
• high school diploma or general education degree (ged) required
• graduate of an accredited radiology technology program
• 2 years of clinical experience in radiology
• current bls certification required
• current american registry of radiologic technologists (arrt) certification
• current license in state of practice
• excellent interpersonal skills
• proven ability to perform patient assessments
• familiar with medical terminology
• working knowledge of a wide variety of radiographic equipment
