Job Purpose :_
The purpose of the Quality Assurance Specialist role is to ensure the implementation of the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with local and international regulations (such as ICAO, IATA, and national civil aviation authorities) across all ground handling operations and airport activities. The specialist also monitors performance standards, identifies non-conformities, and addresses operational risks to ensure processes run efficiently and safely according to established specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:-
Conduct scheduled and unannounced internal audits and inspections on all ground handling activities and ramp services.
Monitor the operational performance of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Monitor compliance with approved international manuals, including the Airport Handling Manual (AHM) and the IATA Ground Operations Manual (IGOM).
Handle non-conformities by issuing detailed Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) reports and following up on their implementation.
Participate in formulating and updating quality policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the airport.
Monitor quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as On-Time Performance (OTP) and ground accident rates.
Prepare periodic quality and technical compliance reports and submit them to senior management with necessary recommendations.
Promote a culture of quality and safety among ground handling staff and participate in designing awareness and training programs.
Qualification :_
A bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or any related field.
Preferred: Professional certifications in quality auditing (such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) or specialized courses from IATA (such as ISAGO).
Experience in quality assurance and control within the aviation sector or airport ground handling services.
Good knowledge of international aviation standards, ground operations, and logistical safety procedures.
Experience working with operational teams to execute internal audits and handle technical non-conformities effectively.
Skills:-
Strong technical skills in quality auditing, operational inspection, and detecting deficiencies.
Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for operational problems quickly and effectively.
Good communication and technical report-writing skills for working as part of a team and interacting with airlines.
Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work under operational pressure.
Ability to comply with safety standards and adapt to variable shift schedules and field work conditions (Ramp).
