JOB DESCRIPTION - SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Position: Senior QS / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Department: Quantity Surveying / Commercial

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 8-10 Years

Key Responsibilities

Manage quantity surveying and commercial activities for construction projects.

Prepare and review BOQs, estimates, rate analysis, and cost plans.

Take-off quantities from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

Verify site measurements and quantities for contractor/subcontractor bills.

Prepare, check, and certify interim and final payment bills.

Monitor project costs, budgets, variations, and cost implications.

Prepare and evaluate variation statements and additional work claims.

Review subcontractor quotations, work orders, and agreements.

Coordinate with Project, Site, Design, Procurement, and Accounts teams.

Prepare client billing and ensure timely submission and certification.

Review contractor/subcontractor claims and supporting documents.

Track project progress against budget and identify cost overruns.

Prepare monthly cost reports, MIS, and commercial statements.

Assist in contract administration, negotiations, and commercial settlements.

Maintain proper records of measurements, bills, variations, and project costs.

Support final account preparation and project closure.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of quantity surveying and construction costing.

Excellent knowledge of BOQ, rate analysis, billing, and quantity take-off.

Good understanding of contracts, variations, claims, and subcontract management.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Proficiency in MS Excel and quantity surveying software.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Good knowledge of construction materials and execution methods.

Experience in handling large-scale building projects is preferred.

Preferred Candidate

A commercially strong and detail-oriented Senior QS with proven experience in quantity take-off, estimation, billing, cost control, variations, contracts, and commercial management, capable of independently handling project commercial activities.
