job summary

we are seeking an expert lead pet groomer with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience to head our grooming operations. the ideal candidate is not just a skilled stylist but a true professional who understands the art of grooming dogs and cats of all breeds.

as the lead groomer, you will set the standard for quality in the salon, perform advanced breed-specific cuts, and serve as the primary point of contact for our english-speaking clientele. you will ensure every pet leaves looking their best and every pet parent feels confident in our care.

key responsibilities

1. professional grooming (dogs & cats)

perform full grooming services for all dog and cat breeds, including bathing, brushing, de-matting, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland expression.

execute industry-standard cuts, breed-specific styling, and creative grooming (scissoring, hand-stripping, and blending) with precision.

safely handle animals of varying temperaments, sizes, and ages (including seniors and puppies/kittens) using low-stress handling techniques.

conduct thorough health checks (skin, coat, ears, teeth) before grooming and alert owners to any abnormalities.

2. client consultation & communication

conduct professional consultations with pet parents in fluent english to understand their styling preferences and specific requirements.

educate clients on proper home maintenance, coat care, and recommended grooming schedules.

handle client feedback or complaints with a calm, professional, and solution-oriented demeanor.

3. salon leadership & hygiene

maintain an extremely professional workspace; ensure tools are sterilized and the station is spotless between appointments.

mentor junior groomers or bathers, ensuring safety protocols are followed strictly.

manage appointment timings effectively to ensure the salon runs on schedule without rushing the pets.

qualifications & requirements

experience: minimum 5+ years of hands-on professional grooming experience is non-negotiable.

versatility: proven ability to groom both dogs and cats across all breed standards.

certification: must hold a valid grooming certification from a recognized grooming academy or institution.

language skills: fluency in english (spoken and written) is mandatory for high-level client interactions.

technical skills: expert proficiency in scissoring, clipper work, hand-stripping, and handling matted coats safely.
