• Prepare the operating theatre before surgical procedures.
• Arrange surgical instruments, equipment, sterile supplies and consumables.
• Check the functionality of OT tables, lights, suction units and monitoring equipment.
• Assist surgeons, anaesthetists and nurses during surgical procedures.
• Transfer and position patients safely according to the surgical procedure.
• Follow aseptic techniques and maintain a sterile operating environment.
• Clean, disinfect, sterilise and store surgical instruments properly.
• Perform surgical counts for instruments, needles, swabs and other materials.
• Assist with setting up anaesthesia equipment under authorised supervision.
• Monitor the availability of oxygen, emergency equipment and essential supplies.
• Handle and label surgical specimens correctly for laboratory examination.
• Dispose of biomedical waste, sharps and contaminated materials safely.
• Prepare the theatre for emergency and scheduled surgeries.
• Maintain OT records, equipment checklists and sterilisation logs.
• Report equipment faults, damaged instruments and supply shortages promptly.
• Support post-operative cleaning and preparation for the next procedure.
• Follow hospital protocols, infection-control guidelines and occupational safety standards.
