Job Title: NICU Nurse (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse)
Job Summary:
A NICU nurse provides specialized care to newborn infants who are premature, critically ill, or require close monitoring after birth. They work in a highly technical environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for infants and support for families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and assess newborn infants’ vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall condition
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and specialized treatments
• Operate and manage advanced medical equipment (ventilators, incubators, feeding tubes)
• Assist with procedures such as intubation, resuscitation, and blood transfusions
• Provide nutritional support (., tube feeding or IV nutrition)
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Educate and support parents and families on infant care and condition
• Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals
• Ensure infection control and safety protocols are strictly followed
Required Qualifications:
• BSC Nursing and GNM Nursing preferred
• Experience in neonatal or critical care (often preferred or required)
