key responsibilities
1. boiler operation & monitoring
operate boilers and auxiliary equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
monitor pressure, temperature, fuel levels, and water levels through gauges, meters, and control panels.
start, stop, and adjust boilers to meet plant steam or heating demands.
2. maintenance & troubleshooting
perform routine preventive maintenance on boilers, burners, pumps, valves, and related equipment.
identify operational abnormalities, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs.
maintain logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
3. safety & compliance
ensure operations comply with local/state boiler operation regulations and safety standards.
conduct regular safety checks, including pressure relief valve testing and water treatment inspections.
follow lock-out/tag-out (loto) and permit-to-work (ptw) procedures during maintenance.
4. water treatment & quality control
test boiler water and make necessary chemical adjustments to prevent corrosion, scaling, and foaming
