Job Title: MD Physician / Medical Doctor

Department: Clinical / OPD / IPD

Location: Hospital / Clinic

Reports To: Medical Superintendent / Head of Department

Job Summary

The MD Physician is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients by diagnosing illnesses, prescribing treatments, and offering preventive healthcare guidance. The role includes managing OPD/IPD patients, coordinating with medical staff, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols for patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

Examine patients, evaluate medical history, and diagnose medical conditions.

Provide treatment plans, prescribe medications, and recommend diagnostic tests.

Manage OPD consultations and follow-up visits.

Oversee inpatient care including rounds and treatment decisions.

Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care support when required.

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Diagnostic & Treatment

Interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, ECGs, laboratory reports, ultrasound results, etc.

Identify complex medical issues and refer patients to specialists when needed.

Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.

Coordination & Communication

Collaborate with nursing staff, paramedics, and specialists for seamless patient care.

Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.

Compliance & Protocols

Ensure adherence to hospital policies, medical ethics, and standard treatment guidelines.

Maintain hygiene, infection control, and safety standards.

Document all medical interactions as per clinical protocols.

Required Qualifications

MBBS + MD (Internal Medicine / General Medicine) from a recognized university.

Valid State Medical Council Registration.

Clinical experience in OPD, IPD, and emergency care (preferred).
