Job Description

educational qualification: - full-time b. tech in mechanical engineering from a recognized university/institute

experience: 12 to 16 years in precision manufacturing / auto ancillary / engineering industries. proven expertise in leading plant maintenance functions (mechanical, electrical & civil) in high-speed, automated, cnc/plc-based environments.

role objective: to lead, strategize, and continuously improve the entire plant maintenance function — covering equipment reliability, tpm, utilities, infrastructure, people development, cost efficiency, and ehs compliance — to ensure seamless production and asset lifecycle excellence.

key responsibilities:

1. strategic maintenance leadership

• define and implement long-term maintenance roadmap aligned with plant and business strategy

• drive improvement in oee (overall equipment effectiveness) and asset availability

• champion asset lifecycle management and modernization of legacy systems

2. preventive & predictive maintenance

• ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules and compliance to checklists

• drive condition monitoring and implement systems for early fault detection

• build a culture of zero unplanned downtime and continuous machine health improvement

3. project & commissioning management

• lead installation and commissioning of new machinery or production lines

• participate in capex planning, machine selection, layout approvals, and process validation

4. utilities & infrastructure

• ensure reliable and efficient functioning of utilities – power, water, air, hvac, compressors, etc.

• plan upgrades to reduce energy consumption and support sustainability goals

5. people leadership

• lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary maintenance team (mechanical, electrical, utility)

• define kpis, review performance, and build a strong safety-first culture

• ensure proper training, skill development, and knowledge transfer mechanisms

6. vendor & cost management

• manage amcs, service contracts, and vendor evaluations

• optimize spares inventory and control mro costs without compromising uptime

• evaluate vendor performance and build a reliable supply chain for maintenance support

7. compliance, documentation & ehs

• ensure 100% compliance with statutory norms, audits, and safety regulations

• maintain detailed records – preventive logs, machine histories, calibrations, checklists

• drive internal audits, participate in customer audits, and ensure high ehs maturity
