As a Jewellery Technician, you will be responsible for the creation, repair, and maintenance of various types of jewellery while ensuring high quality and craftsmanship. Your work will involve detailed hand skills and a keen eye for design.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Jewellery Creation**: Design and fabricate jewellery pieces using traditional and modern techniques, ensuring adherence to style and specifications provided by clients.
- **Repair Work**: Assess and repair damaged jewellery, including re-setting stones, resizing rings, and fixing broken chains, to restore items to their original condition.
- **Polishing and Finishing**: Use appropriate tools and techniques to polish and finish jewellery pieces, enhancing their appearance and ensuring they meet quality standards.
- **Quality Control**: Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy, making sure that all pieces are up to standard and free from defects.
- **Inventory Management**: Organize and maintain an inventory of materials and tools, ensuring that all resources are available for production and repairs.
- **Client Interaction**: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences, providing expert advice on design options and materials.
To succeed in this role, you should have at least 5 to 10 years of experience in jewellery making and repair. A minimum of a 12th-grade education is required. Strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and a creative mindset are essential. You should also be comfortable working in a team environment and able to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines.
