read blueprints: study and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications

inspect materials: inspect materials and structures before welding

weld: use torches and power supplies to weld components in various positions

maintain equipment: maintain welding equipment and machinery

monitor welds: monitor the welding process and assess the quality of welds

follow safety regulations: wear safety gear like helmets, goggles, and gloves, and follow safe handling procedures for equipment

collaborate: work with other team members, such as pipefitters, engineers, and project managers

skills and abilities

physical strength: be able to lift and carry heavy objects

attention to detail: pay close attention to the details of their work

interpersonal skills: have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
