key responsibilities:

reading and interpreting blueprints: study and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the requirements of a particular project.

machine assembly: assemble mechanical components and machines according to specifications and guidelines.

installation and maintenance: install and maintain machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems. this may involve troubleshooting and repairing any malfunctions.

precision measurement: use precision tools and instruments to measure and inspect components to ensure they meet specified tolerances.

welding and fabrication: perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks as necessary for the assembly and repair of machinery.

quality control: ensure the quality and accuracy of work through regular inspections and adherence to industry standards.

safety compliance: adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.

documentation: maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks.

collaboration: work closely with other team members, such as engineers, technicians, and supervisors, to achieve project goals and timelines.

tool and equipment maintenance: keep tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues to the supervisor.

qualifications and skills:

iti certification: completion of a relevant industrial training institute (iti) course in fitting or a related field.

technical skills: proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments. knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques is often required.

mechanical aptitude: strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
