The Housekeeping Staff is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, appearance, and overall presentation of guest rooms and hotel areas. The staff member should provide efficient, courteous, and professional service to ensure a comfortable experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
* Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and assigned hotel areas.
* Make beds, change bed linen, towels, and other room supplies as required.
* Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces and floors.
* Clean and disinfect bathrooms, toilets, washbasins, mirrors, and fixtures.
* Replenish toiletries, drinking water, stationery, and other guest amenities.
* Check rooms for cleanliness, maintenance issues, damages, or missing items and report them to the supervisor.
* Handle guest requests politely and promptly.
* Maintain proper hygiene and follow hotel cleanliness standards.
* Collect and return housekeeping equipment, linen, and supplies properly.
* Follow procedures for lost and found items and immediately report any such items to the supervisor.
* Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly.
* Maintain cleanliness in housekeeping stores and work areas.
* Assist with cleaning of public areas when required.
* Coordinate with the Front Office and Maintenance departments when necessary.
* Respect guest privacy and hotel property at all times.
* Follow hotel rules, grooming standards, safety procedures, and attendance requirements.
* Perform any other housekeeping duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Previous hotel housekeeping experience is preferred but not mandatory.
* Basic understanding of cleaning and hygiene standards.
* Good communication and polite behaviour.
* Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
* Physically fit and able to stand/walk for extended periods.
* Honest, punctual, responsible, and well-groomed.
* Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
