the general duty assistant (gda) supports nurses and doctors in providing quality patient care in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities. the role involves assisting patients with mobility, monitoring vital health parameters, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring patient comfort under the supervision of medical staff.

### **key responsibilities:**

* assist patients with mobility – walking, wheelchair movement, bed transfers

* maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and surroundings

* monitor and record vital signs like temperature, pulse, and blood pressure

* help in transferring patients within the facility (., for tests or procedures)

* support nurses and doctors during basic medical activities

* maintain patient records and report any changes in health condition

* ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity at all times

* follow hygiene, safety, and infection control protocols
