position overview

we are looking for a skilled furniture designer/draftsman to work remotely, specializing in producing detailed design and technical drawings for furniture projects. this role involves creating precise 2d and 3d drawings from provided concepts or client briefs, collaborating virtually with the design team and workshop, with no on-site fabrication responsibilities.

key responsibilities

create accurate 2d technical drawings and detailed drafts for furniture designs using cad software.

develop 3d models and visualizations to aid design communication and client presentations.

prepare drawings for production, including dimensions, materials, and joinery details, ensuring clarity for workshops.

collaborate remotely with architects, designers, and fabricators via digital platforms to refine and finalize drawings.

implement revisions and update drawings based on feedback without needing to visit the workshop.

ensure all drawings conform to project standards, ergonomics, and manufacturing feasibility.

maintain organized digital records of project drawings and documentation.

requirements

proven experience in furniture design drafting with a strong portfolio of cad drawings.

proficiency in cad software such as autocad, solidworks, sketchup, or similar.

strong attention to technical detail and accuracy.

ability to work independently with excellent time management in a remote setting.

good communication skills for virtual collaboration.

preferred skills

experience with 3d rendering software preferred but not mandatory.

familiarity with furniture manufacturing processes to ensure practical, build able drawings.

awareness of current trends in furniture design and materials.
