• create a master pattern for each size within a range of garment sizes, using charts, drafting instruments, computers, and/or grading devices
• mark samples and finished patterns with information such as garment size section, style, identification, and sewing instructions
• testing and deciding on fabrics, colors, patterns, and textures for each design, also maintaining brand standard sizes for bulk production
• overseeing the production of designs, including carrying out fittings, determining prices, and managing marketing
• develop a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and supervise the creation of these, including fitting, detailing, and adaptations
• proficiency in computer-aided fashion design applications and digital visualization tools like cad and clo
• create or visualize an idea and produce a design by hand or using computer-aided design (cad)
• collaborating with team members to select seasonal themes, make edits to lines, and create new concepts.
• work with models to try out your designs and also to wear them on the modelling at photoshoot
