Role Overview
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and commercially savvy Fashion Designer to join our core product development team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of apparel collections tailored to the spec and aesthetic requirements of our international clients.
You will work at the intersection of creative design and industrial manufacturing, translating global trend insights into production-ready tech packs, selecting fabrics, and collaborating directly with our sampling, merchandising, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Trend Research & Concept Development: Conduct seasonal market research, analyze global runway and retail trends, and create compelling mood boards, color stories, and concept presentations for international buyer meetings.
Collection Design: Develop original apparel designs (sketches, CADs, and artwork) aligned with specific client profiles, target price points, and manufacturing capabilities.
Tech Pack Creation: Build detailed, highly accurate technical flat sketches, construction details, trim specs, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to guide the pattern-making and sampling teams.
Fabric & Trim Sourcing: Collaborate with fabric mills and suppliers to source innovative, cost-effective textiles, trims, and surface ornamentation (embroidery, prints, washes).
Sample Development & Fit Reviews: Partner closely with pattern makers and sample machinists to oversee prototype development; participate in fit sessions to evaluate garment construction and silhouette execution.
Client Collaboration: Present design concepts and sample lines directly to international buyers and merchandising managers during seasonal collection reviews.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 3 to 6+ years of fashion design experience, preferably within an apparel export house, garment manufacturing company, or OEM/ODM vendor.
Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and garment design software (., CLO 3D, Optitex, or Gerber is a strong plus).
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of garment construction, fabric performance, woven/knit manufacturing processes, washes, and pattern making.
Commercial Acumen: Strong ability to design to cost without compromising on style or quality.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills for interfacing with overseas clients and internal factory teams.
