We are looking for a skilled and motivated Farm Manager to join our team. As the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the farm, ensuring productivity, managing a team, and maintaining the overall health and sustainability of the land, crops, or livestock. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, knowledge of agricultural practices, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Farm Operations: Manage day-to-day operations, including planting, harvesting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and livestock care (if applicable).
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and manage farm workers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
Crop and Livestock Management: Plan and monitor crop production cycles or livestock care programs, ensuring the health and growth of crops or animals.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and repair of farm equipment and machinery, minimizing downtime.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of crop yields, livestock health, equipment usage, and other farm activities. Monitor budgets and expenses.
Compliance and Sustainability: Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and government regulations. Implement sustainable farming practices where possible.
Budget and Financial Management: Help prepare and manage the farm’s budget, including the purchase of supplies, equipment, and payroll for farm employees.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to crop production, livestock care, and general farm operations.
Farm Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies for farm growth, crop rotation, and land management.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Farm Manager or similar role in agriculture.
Strong understanding of farming operations, crop management, and/or livestock care.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
Knowledge of agricultural tools, machinery, and equipment.
Relevant degree or certification in agriculture or related fields is preferred.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainable farming practices.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with modern farming technology, automation, and data management.
Knowledge of organic farming or specialty crop management.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, depending on the season.
