Job Description

installation and setup

install electrical wiring systems, conduits, circuit breakers, and components (., switches, outlets, panels, lighting fixtures) based on blueprints and technical diagrams.

assemble and connect electrical equipment such as motors, transformers, generators, and control systems.

install safety and distribution components like switches, circuit breakers, and panels.

maintenance and repair

perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.

diagnose electrical malfunctions and system failures using appropriate testing devices (., voltmeters, ammeters, multimeters).

repair or replace defective wiring, equipment, or components, including repairing circuit breaker issues and performing corrective maintenance.

troubleshoot and repair electrical controls, motor control centers, and sometimes programmable logic controllers (plcs).

safety and compliance

ensure strict compliance with all local and national electrical codes (., national electrical code - nec) and safety regulations.

adhere to all health, safety, and environmental (hse) regulations and safe working practices.

maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

documentation and teamwork

read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.

document all work tasks, repairs performed, materials used, and equipment inventory.

collaborate effectively with other trade professionals (., plumbers, construction workers) to complete projects on time.

provide technical assistance and, in some senior roles, direct and train apprentice electricians.
