• performs maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines and auxiliary equipment in various settings, including workshops and field locations. key duties involve inspecting machinery, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and executing repairs or overhauls to ensure optimal equipment performance. the role requires technical expertise in diesel systems, strong problem-solving skills, and effective communication with clients and teams.

key responsibilities:

• maintenance & inspection:

conduct routine maintenance, scheduled inspections, and preventative checks on diesel engines and associated equipment.

• diagnostics & troubleshooting:

diagnose malfunctioning equipment using systematic approaches and diagnostic tools, identifying the root cause of mechanical, electrical, and operational problems.

• repairs & overhauls:

perform necessary repairs, replacing faulty parts, and conducting complete engine overhauls and rebuilding of components like turbochargers and fuel pumps.

• field service & installation:

perform on-site servicing, installation, and emergency repairs at client facilities, which may involve travel to diverse locations.

• documentation & reporting:

prepare detailed service reports, technical documentation, and service records, ensuring accuracy and clear communication of job status and findings.

• customer support:

provide technical guidance, explanations of defects, and advice on future maintenance to customers.

• coordination:

work with other departments and coordinate with internal teams on allocated jobs to ensure completion according to schedule and scope.

• safety & compliance:

ensure all work adheres to safety standards, regulations, and company protocols.
