Key responsibilities:
1. Perform dialysis procedures: This role involves setting up, operating, and monitoring dialysis machines during patient treatment sessions.
2. Monitor patient vital signs: Keep a close eye on patient blood pressure, heart rate, and other vital signs throughout the dialysis process to ensure their safety and well-being.
3. Assist patients during treatment: Help patients feel comfortable and secure during dialysis sessions, answering any questions they may have and addressing any concerns.
4. Maintain equipment: Ensure dialysis machines are properly cleaned, maintained, and calibrated to meet safety and quality standards.
5. Record patient data: Accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and outcomes to track progress and make adjustments as needed.
Required skills and expectations:
1. Diploma in a related field: A diploma in a healthcare-related field is required to become a Dialysis Technician.
2. Experience in dialysis: Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience working in a dialysis setting, with up to 8 years of experience preferred.
3. Attention to detail: Dialysis Technicians must pay close attention to detail to accurately monitor patient vital signs and equipment performance.
4. Compassionate care: Being able to empathize with patients, provide comfort, and address any concerns is essential in this role.
