Minimum Education: Bachelor€™s Degree or Equivalent Experience

Recommended Tenure: 7+ years in data platform engineering or architecture roles

(including 3+ years in a hands-on architecture role)

Role Summary:

The Data Architect will design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure data

architectures that power analytics, integrations, and real-time processing across the

organization. As part of the Data Platform team, this role collaborates closely with Solution

Architects, Data Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that data models

and systems are aligned with business needs and enterprise architecture standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Design:

ï‚· Translate business and technical requirements into well-defined data models and

architecture specifications.

ï‚· Design and document logical and physical data models, data flow diagrams,

and integration patterns.

ï‚· Align data architecture with application design and system interaction patterns in

collaboration with Solution Architects.

ï‚· Establish and maintain best practices and design standards for relational, NoSQL,

and streaming data solutions.

Solution Delivery & Support:

ï‚· Act as a hands-on architecture lead during discovery, planning, and delivery phases

of data projects.

ï‚· Guide data engineers in implementing solutions consistent with architecture

principles and project requirements.

ï‚· Conduct design and code reviews to ensure solution quality, scalability, and

compliance.

ï‚· Drive platform evolution by defining and enforcing reusable, modular, and scalable

architecture practices.

Data Governance & Quality:

ï‚· Define and enforce best practices for data modeling, data security, and

performance tuning.

ï‚· Maintain consistency in metadata, naming conventions, and data access

standards across environments.

ï‚· Support data privacy, classification, and auditability requirements across integrated

systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

ï‚· Partner with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, DevOps, and Analytics teams to

deliver end-to-end data solutions.

ï‚· Collaborate with Solution Architects to ensure cohesive design and delivery across

application and data domains.

ï‚· Serve as a subject matter expert on data structures, semantics, and lifecycle

management across key business areas.

Key Competencies & Skills:

ï‚· Experience: 7+ years in data engineering or data architecture roles, with at least 3

years in an architecture-focused position.

ï‚· Cloud Platforms: Proven expertise in GCP and/or Azure, with deep understanding of

native data services.

ï‚· Data Technologies: Strong understanding of relational, NoSQL, and object storage

paradigms.

ï‚· Databases: Hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL; proficiency

in Python preferred.

ï‚· DevOps for Data: Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and CI/CD

pipelines for data engineering.

ï‚· Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the

ability to lead through influence.

ï‚· Work Ethic: Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple initiatives

simultaneously.
