job responsibilities:
- responsible for pre-operative and post-operative management of patients on an ongoing basis.
- assist senior consultants in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiovascular and thoracic conditions, including congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and vascular disorders.
-participate in preoperative evaluations, surgical planning, and postoperative care of patients undergoing cardiothoracic and vascular surgical procedures, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient safety.
-perform surgical procedures under the supervision of senior consultants, including coronary artery bypass grafting (cabg), valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, lung resection, and vascular reconstructions.
- collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, anaesthesiologists, nurses, and perfusionists, to provide comprehensive patient care and coordinate treatment plans.
-assist in the management of acute and emergent situations, such as cardiac arrest, haemorrhage, or perioperative complications, with confidence and efficiency, ensuring timely intervention and patient stabilization.
