Position: Costing Engineer

Department: Engineering / Estimation

Reports To: Head of Operations / Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical panel manufacturing and assemblies

🔹 Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and quantify components needed for production

🔹 Analyze material, labour, overhead and vendor prices to determine optimum costing

🔹 Coordinate with procurement, design and production teams to finalize cost inputs

🔹 Review vendor quotations and negotiate competitive pricing

🔹 Maintain costing database & update rate changes for materials and processes

🔹 Ensure cost targets and profitability margins are met for projects

🔹 Provide costing support during tendering, client quotation and proposal stages

🔹 Assist in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

�� Bachelor��s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

�� 1��8 years of experience (Panel manufacturing costing preferred)

�� Freshers with strong academic records may be considered

�� Strong understanding of electrical components, schematics & panel architecture

�� Proficient in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Formulas)

�� Good analytical and numerical skills

�� Excellent communication and coordination skills

�� Knowledge of material standards, industrial rates & vendor pricing advantage

Preferred Experience:

�� Experience with control panel manufacturing costing

�� Exposure to BOM preparation

�� Familiarity with ERP / inventory systems

�� Understanding of electrical design & load calculation
