We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cath Lab Technician to support cardiologists and other healthcare professionals during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The technician will prepare patients, operate specialized equipment, maintain a sterile environment, monitor vital signs, and assist the medical team in delivering safe and effective cardiac care.
Key Responsibilities
Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, and other interventional procedures.
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining basic instructions, positioning them correctly, and preparing the catheter insertion site.
Set up, operate, and monitor catheterization laboratory equipment, including fluoroscopy, ECG, hemodynamic monitoring, and imaging systems.
Record and monitor patients' blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, ECG, and other vital parameters during procedures.
Recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms or changes in a patient's condition and immediately inform the cardiologist or nursing team.
Maintain strict sterile techniques and infection-control standards throughout each procedure.
Prepare catheters, guidewires, balloons, stents, contrast media, medications, and other required supplies.
Assist with emergency procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of emergency cardiac equipment.
Ensure radiation-safety guidelines are followed and use appropriate protective equipment.
Inspect, clean, and maintain Cath Lab instruments and equipment.
Maintain accurate patient records, procedure documentation, inventory reports, and equipment logs.
Monitor stock levels and ensure the timely availability of medical consumables and emergency supplies.
Support patients before, during, and after procedures while maintaining their privacy, comfort, and safety.
Coordinate effectively with cardiologists, nurses, radiographers, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals.
Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and applicable healthcare regulations.
