A Cargo Associate ensures the safe, efficient, and timely handling of freight, often within airline or logistics settings. Key duties include loading/unloading shipments, operating equipment, preparing documentation (Air Waybills), verifying inventory, tracking lost cargo, and enforcing safety/hazardous material procedures. They ensure compliance with warehouse operations and customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Cargo Handling: Unload and load, scan, and sort cargo in warehouses or onto vehicles/aircraft, often requiring forklift operation.

Documentation: Prepare and check cargo load plans, Air Waybills (AWB), and Bills of Lading to determine shipping charges and routes.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to, and implement, strict security protocols, particularly when handling dangerous goods.

Inventory Control: Inspect cargo for damage, tampering, or weight discrepancies and perform inventory checks.

Logistics & Tracking: Coordinate with customs, track lost or missing shipments, and update records for cargo movement.

Customer Interaction: Assist in cargo booking inquiries and advise clients on shipping options

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience: Previous experience in a logistics, warehouse, or courier environment is typically required.

Skills: Detailed-oriented, strong organizational skills, ability to operate warehouse equipment, and good communication skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy items, work in all weather conditions, and work flexible shifts (including nights/weekends).
