Monitors patient condition by observing the physical and mental condition,
intake and output, and exercise.
Assists patients by providing personal services, such as bathing, dressing, and
grooming.
Helps patients care for themselves by teaching the use of a cane or walker, special
utensils to eat, and special techniques and equipment for personal hygiene.
The caregiver should help the patient to lift, turn, and reposition the patient;
advising on nutrition, and cleanliness.
The caregiver should record the patient information by making entries in the
patient journal; notifying the clinical coordinator.
The Caregiver may also accompany the patient to appointments or day-to-day
activities providing a helping hand.
