Operate the cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machine during cardiac surgery.

Prepare, prime, and check perfusion equipment and circuits before procedures.

Monitor blood flow, oxygenation, temperature, pressure, and other relevant parameters during bypass.

Manage blood gases, electrolytes, and fluid balance as directed by clinical protocols.

Administer medications or blood products through the perfusion circuit when authorized and required.

Assist with procedures involving ECMO and other extracorporeal support systems, where trained and applicable.

Maintain and troubleshoot perfusion equipment during procedures.

Follow strict infection-control, patient-safety, and quality-assurance procedures.

Maintain accurate perfusion records and documentation.

Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other members of the cardiac-care team.

Participate in equipment maintenance, quality improvement, and emergency preparedness.
