Key responsibilitiesDonor screening and blood collection:Interviewing potential donors and using sterile techniques to draw blood from donors and patients. Blood testing:Performing complex tests to determine blood type and screen for infectious diseases to ensure the blood is safe for transfusion. Processing and storage:Separating donated blood into components like plasma and platelets, and storing blood products according to established protocols. Quality control:Ensuring the quality and integrity of blood products by performing quality control checks and maintaining lab equipment. Record keeping:Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all blood bank activities, including donations, test results, and distribution. Compatibility testing:Checking the compatibility of donor blood with recipient blood before it is issued for transfusion.
