The construction manager will be responsible for ensuring all objectives and standards are met, and for finding solutions to problems as they arise. You will ensure all equipment and materials are available on-site as needed.

Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirementsPlan and design major civil projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, dams, water and waste management systems and structural steel fabricationsDevelop construction specifications and proceduresEvaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materialsInterpret, review and approve survey and civil design workConduct field services for civil worksEnsure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulationsEstablish and monitor construction work schedulesConduct feasibility studies, economic analyses, municipal and regional traffic studies, environmental impact studies or other investigationsMonitor air, water and soil quality and develop procedures to clean up contaminated sitesConduct technical analyses of survey and field data for development of topographic, soil, hydrological or other information and prepare reportsAct as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction workPrepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projectsSupervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates.

Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate construction activities on-site, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain a safe work environment.Coordinate with project managers to develop and maintain construction schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and deliverables.Monitor progress against project timelines and budgets, identifying and addressing any issues or delays promptly.Review construction plans, specifications, and blueprints to ensure adherence to design requirements and standards.Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement, scheduling, and quality control of work performed.Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to communicate project status, milestones, and expectations.Resolve conflicts or disputes that may arise on-site, implementing effective problem-solving techniques to maintain project momentum.Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure workmanship meets project specifications and industry standards.Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, progress reports, and as-built drawings.Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction supervision or a related field, preferably in [residential/commercial/industrial] construction projects.A diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.Strong knowledge of construction techniques, methods, and materials.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and blueprints.Familiarity with construction safety regulations and best practices.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
