Read technical drawings: Fabricators read blueprints, sketches, and project specifications to understand the design requirements.Select materials: Fabricators choose the appropriate materials for the project.Cut and shape materials: Fabricators use specialized tools to cut, shape, and form the materials.Assemble parts: Fabricators assemble the parts into a structure, usually by welding, but sometimes using bolts and rivets.Finish the assembly: Fabricators use tools like grinders and polishers to smooth the surface.Inspect finished products: Fabricators ensure that the finished products meet the required standards and specifications.Maintain and repair tools: Fabricators maintain and repair the tools and equipment they use.Collaborate with team members: Fabricators work with designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Fabricators work in a variety of industries, including construction, automotive, and manufacturing.
