As an Accountant/Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial records, ensuring accuracy, and facilitating efficient financial operations. You will report directly to the Financial Manager/owner and collaborate closely with other members of the finance and administrative teams.Responsibilities:Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero, etcProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, payments, and collections.Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts regularly.Prepare and process payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and deductions.Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.Monitor cash flow and financial performance, identifying areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.Assist with tax filings, including HST/GST, payroll taxes, and corporate income taxes.Provide support during audits and liaise with auditors as necessary.Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Proven experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper, preferably in a similar industry or role.Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles and regulations.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
