JOB DESCRIPTION FOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Construction Project Manager to oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with experience in managing medium to larger sized construction projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Project Planning & Management:
· Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
· Allocate resources efficiently and monitor project timelines.
2. Technical Execution:
· Oversee laborers and sub vendors to ensure complete quality of work is executed.
· Guide skilled labourers on execution of formwork, bar-bending, placing of reinforcement steel, concreting, blockwork, plastering, painting, tile laying, joineries, plumbing and other finishing works.
3. Team Leadership:
· Assign responsibilities and ensure team members meet project objectives.
4. Project Pitch/ Proposal:
· Candidate must have strong presentation skill and answer any technical questions posed by the client in a confident and concise manner. Candidate must be able to present a proposal in a concise and effective manner.
5. Vendor & Material Management:
· Source and negotiate with vendors for materials and services.
· Oversee procurement to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
6. Financial Oversight:
· Manage project budgets, track expenses, and minimize cost overruns.
· Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.
7. Compliance & Documentation:
· Ensure all projects comply with local regulations and legal requirements.
· Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports and change orders.
QUALIFICATION: Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE: Candidates with 20 – 25 years of experience in industrial, commercial high-rise buildings are encouraged to apply.
KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
· Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and regulations.
· Proficiency in project management tools (., MS Project, Primavera) and MS Office Suite.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Hands-on, result-oriented, and detail-focused.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
· Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
· Adaptability to handle the dynamic nature of MSME projects.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: Strong command over both Tamil and English language (Spoken, Written)
