The Field Sales Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving sales performance, managing a team of field sales representatives, and achieving ambitious sales targets within a defined territory. Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets.
Identify new market opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate them.
Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies.
Contribute to the development of pricing strategies and product offerings.
Team Leadership & Management:
Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor a high-performing team of field sales representatives.
Set clear performance expectations, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback.
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and team meetings.
Motivate and inspire the sales team to achieve their full potential.
Foster a positive and results-oriented team culture.
Address performance issues promptly and effectively.
Sales Performance & Reporting:
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales activities and performance against targets.
Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance summaries to senior management.
Implement and manage CRM tools to track sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline progress.
Identify roadblocks and implement solutions to improve sales efficiency.
Customer Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
Accompany sales representatives on client visits to provide support and guidance.
Resolve complex customer issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
Territory Management:
Effectively manage and optimize sales territories to maximize coverage and potential.
Understand the unique characteristics and opportunities within the assigned territory.
Develop strategies for key account management and new business acquisition.
Training & Development:
Provide ongoing coaching and training to enhance the sales skills and product knowledge of the team.
Identify individual and team training needs and coordinate appropriate training programs.
Stay updated on industry trends, product developments, and sales best practices.
Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to ensure a cohesive customer experience.
Provide market feedback to internal teams to inform product enhancements and marketing campaigns.
