As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the senior finance team in various tasks. Your primary duties will include data entry, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and assisting with month-end closing activities. This role is ideal for freshers or individuals with limited experience who are eager to learn and grow within a professional accounting environment.
Responsibilities
Data Entry & Record Keeping:
Accurately record daily financial transactions in accounting software (., Tally ERP 9/Tally Prime).
Maintain organized and up-to-date physical and digital financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
Ensure proper categorization of expenses and revenues.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Support:
Assist in processing vendor invoices, verifying details, and preparing payments.
Support in tracking customer invoices, follow up on outstanding payments, and prepare collection reports.
Reconcile vendor and customer statements.
Bank & Cash Reconciliations:
Perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations, matching bank statements with internal cash and bank books.
Manage petty cash, ensuring proper documentation for all disbursements.
Statutory Compliance Assistance:
Assist in the calculation and preparation of basic statutory payments, such as TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) and GST (Goods and Services Tax).
Support the senior team in compiling data for various tax filings and audits.
Expense Management:
Process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare basic financial reports and summaries as required by the senior accountant or management.
Ensure all accounting documents are properly filed and easily retrievable for audit purposes.
General Accounting Support:
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Support the senior finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.
