initial pay: 20,000/- per month (clerk).

27,000/- to 30,000/- (engineer)

experience required: freshers and minimum 4 years of experience in any field.

skills and responsibilities:

• senior clerk cum typist: graduation degree with typing speed of 25 wpm in hindi or 30 wpm in english

• junior clerk cum typist: metric with typing speed of 25 wpm in hindi or 30 wpm in english

• ticket examiner: intermediate

• communication clerk: intermediate

• enquiry /reservation clerk: graduation degree

• booking clerk: issues tickets to passengers (either traditional paper tickets or through computerized unreserved ticket system – uts), book luggage and parcels, supervise their loading, and maintain concerned registers. nowadays in some small stations booking clerk is also given an additional charge of computerized passenger reservation.

• mechanical engineers in indian railways look for train operations like crew management, motive power ability, traffic restoration, repair, and rolling stock management and manufacturing etc.

• electrical engineer includes maintenance of electrical multiple units, locomotives, traction distribution and mainline emus.
