Responsibilities :

1. Review insurance applications for compliance and adherence

2. Assess clients- background information and financial status

3. Liaise with specialists to gather information and opinions

4. Weight loss exposures and determine underwriting alternatives

5. Draw up quotes for competitive insurance premiums

6. Negotiate and define the specific terms of insurance policies with brokers or policyholders

7. Keep detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made

8. Balance between mass and homogeneity of risks to achieve predictability of future results

9. Develop and maintain a profitable book of business for the insurer

10. Follow applicable insurance laws

Desired Profile of the candidate :

1. Proven insurance underwriting experience

2. Hands-on experience with - smart systems-, analytical tools and statistical packages (spreadsheets,SPSS, databases etc.)

3. Sensible judgement and attention to detail

4. Confident decision-making skills

5. Excellent knowledge of insurance policies and ability to relate policy provisions to the loss of exposures

6. Proven numeracy and statistical skills

Education:

Graduate or Post Graduate

Experience : 4 - 10 Years
