workforce management & supervision:
directly supervise, motivate, and manage the daily activities of site laborers, skilled workers (., masons, carpenters, bar benders, electricians, plumbers), and subcontractor teams.
allocate daily tasks and monitor progress to ensure work is completed efficiently, on time, and to the required quality standards.
provide immediate on-the-job training and guidance to workers as needed, addressing skill gaps.
manage attendance, enforce discipline, and ensure adherence to company policies among the site workforce.
execution & coordination:
oversee and manage specific construction activities as assigned (., excavation, foundation work, formwork, rebar fixing, concreting, brickwork, plastering, tiling, painting, mep rough-ins).
accurately read and interpret basic engineering drawings, blueprints, and sketches to guide and verify site work.
coordinate effectively with the site engineer, other supervisors, and different trade teams to ensure a smooth, continuous workflow.
troubleshoot minor on-site operational issues and escalate complex problems or technical discrepancies to the site engineer or project manager.
quality control & assurance:
implement and rigorously enforce quality control procedures and standards for all work being executed on site.
conduct regular visual inspections of ongoing work, materials, and workmanship to identify and promptly rectify any defects, deviations, or non-conforming work.
ensure correct materials are used as per specifications and that they meet quality requirements (., cement, aggregates, steel, bricks).
assist the site engineer in conducting quality checks, collecting samples for testing (., concrete cubes), and documenting results.
health, safety & environment (hse):
implement and strictly enforce all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures on site.
conduct daily toolbox talks (safety briefings) to educate workers on safe work practices, potential hazards, and emergency procedures.
ensure all workers consistently use appropriate personal protective equipment (ppe) �� hard hats, safety shoes, high-visibility vests, gloves, etc.
actively identify and mitigate potential hazards on site; ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
report all incidents, accidents, or near-misses immediately to the site engineer/manager and assist in investigations.
resource management:
monitor the efficient use of materials, plant, and equipment on site to minimize wastage and optimize utilization.
coordinate with the site engineer or stores department for timely requisition, ordering, and delivery of materials.
ensure proper storage, handling, and security of materials on site to prevent damage, theft, or loss.
reporting & documentation:
maintain accurate and comprehensive daily site diaries, recording work progress, manpower deployment (skilled/unskilled), equipment usage, material consumption, and any critical issues or delays.
report daily progress, operational challenges, and resource requirements clearly to the site engineer/project manager.
assist in preparing and maintaining other site records as required (., attendance registers, material inward/outward registers).
minor client/stakeholder interaction:
may interact with client representatives, consultants, or local inspectors on site under the direct guidance of the site engineer, addressing minor, routine queries.
