Job Description

Prepare and operate heart-lung machines and related equipment during cardiopulmonary bypass procedures.

Monitor and control patient’s circulation, oxygenation, and temperature while on bypass.

Handle perfusion techniques, fluids, drugs, and oxygenator components to match patient physiology.

Prepare for emergencies and complications by having appropriate medication and equipment immediately available.

Perform perfusion calculations, adjust flow and pressure to match patient’s metabolic needs.

Monitor patient’s coagulation, electrolyte, and acid-base status and respond appropriately.

Keep detailed and accurate perfusion records for each procedure.

Support organ preservation and procurement when required.

Prepare and maintain all perfusion equipment, perform routine checks, and troubleshoot issues promptly.

Work closely with surgeons, anaesthesiologists, nurses, and other OR team members to provide the highest standard of patient care.
