education & qualifications
bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical/mechanical/industrial).
preferred: mba (operations/quality management).
desirable: lean six sigma (gb/bb), pmp, iso 9001 lead auditor, iso lead implementer/auditor.
beneficial: data centre certifications (cdcp, cdcs, dcos).
experience
15–20 years in operations management, process improvement, quality, and compliance.
5–7 years in leadership/managerial roles, driving operational excellence and compliance frameworks.
proven results using continuous improvement methodologies.
data centre experience
5–7 years in data centre ops (hyperscale/colocation/enterprise) in india.
experience with dc processes: power, cooling, physical security, it systems, bms & allied systems.
hands-on compliance audits: iso , soc 2, pci dss (physical security), uptime/tia-942.
experience managing critical incidents and rca in 24×7 mission-critical environments.
proven improvements in uptime, pue reduction, and operational reliability.
role purpose
lead operational excellence and compliance across all data centre operations through continuous improvement, process standardisation, efficiency enhancement, and governance. drive data-based decision-making and ensure adherence to best-in-class operational and compliance standards. reports to director – operations engineering.
key responsibilities
operational process design & optimisation
design, document, and optimise optimisation mops, sops, incident response, change management, and capacity processes.
drive lean six sigma and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
conduct process audits and reviews; ensure standardisation across data centre campuses.
partner with engineering, it ops, and other teams for seamless cross-functional workflows.
performance monitoring & analytics
develop kpis and metrics (uptime, mttr, mtbf, pue, incident rates).
establish data collection, analysis, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
lead rca and capa for major incidents and integrate learnings.
use analytics to identify bottlenecks and recommend proactive improvements.
drive periodic performance and compliance review meetings.
compliance & governance
ensure full compliance with data centre standards: iso , soc 2 type 2, pci dss (physical security), uptime/tia-942.
build and maintain compliance frameworks and audit programs.
