we are urgently looking for legal head for a real estate conglomerate in chennai. strong experience in real estate sector with age range between 40 to 50 years of age and currently heading the legal team is preferred.

responsibilities

• give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (real estate laws, register, udr a, property laws, litigation etc.)

• collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies

• collaborate with external lawyers to evaluate land records and conduct a thorough due diligence for all deals and transactions. highlight concern areas and recommend risk mitigation strategies / options

• collaborate with all partners in contract definition. review the final agreements from a legal perspective and ensure minimal risks to the organization

• develop and manage the legal team depending upon the existing and future business plans

• guide the company in interpretation of laws with respect to construction, real estate and environment applicable to the business

• specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance

• research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations

• apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues

• communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust

• draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights

• deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces

• provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization

• conduct your work with integrity and responsibility

• maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation
