Legal Head – Real Estate Conglomerate

We are urgently looking for Legal Head for a Real Estate Conglomerate in Chennai. Strong experience in real estate sector with age range between 40 to 50 years of age and currently heading the legal team is preferred.

Responsibilities

Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (real estate laws, register, UDR A, Property Laws, litigation etc.)

Collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies

Collaborate with external lawyers to evaluate land records and conduct a thorough due diligence for all deals and transactions. Highlight concern areas and recommend risk mitigation strategies / options

Collaborate with all partners in contract definition. Review the final agreements from a legal perspective and ensure minimal risks to the organization

Develop and manage the Legal team depending upon the existing and future business plans

Guide the company in interpretation of laws with respect to construction, real estate and environment applicable to the business

Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance

Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations

Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues

Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust

Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the companys full legal rights

Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces

Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization

Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility

Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation

Strategic :

- Develop strategies to manage contracts and litigation effectively so as to minimize exposure of the Company to claims and litigation
