Job Summary
The Indian Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking traditional Indian dishes, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. Key Responsibilities
Menu Planning and Preparation: Design and prepare a variety of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Develop and refine recipes to ensure consistency and quality.
Ingredient Management: Select, purchase, and manage ingredients and spices required for Indian cuisine. Ensure that ingredients are fresh, of high quality, and stored properly.
Cooking and Presentation: Prepare dishes to order, ensuring that each dish is cooked to the highest standards. Focus on presentation to enhance the dining experience.
Kitchen Management: Oversee daily operations in the kitchen, including managing kitchen staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
Quality Control: Monitor and maintain food quality standards, including taste, texture, and appearance. Conduct regular taste tests and adjust recipes as needed.
Hygiene and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness. Conduct regular checks and maintain hygiene standards.
Training and Development: Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, presentation, and kitchen procedures. Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to receive feedback, address special requests, or provide information about the menu.
Inventory Management: Track inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and place orders for supplies as needed. Minimize waste and manage costs effectively.
