Perform various welding processes such as Arc Welding (SMAW), MIG/MAG Welding (GMAW), TIG Welding (GTAW), or Spot Welding as per job requirements and specified procedures.
Work on different types of metals including Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and other alloys, ensuring appropriate filler materials and techniques are used.
Join metal parts correctly and safely, ensuring strong fusion, clean beads, and defect-free welds (., no porosity, cracks, undercut).
Blueprint Interpretation:
Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications to understand joint configurations, dimensions, and welding requirements.
Understand Bill of Materials (BOM) and component identification.
Material Preparation & Fitting:
Prepare materials for welding, which may include cutting, grinding, deburring, cleaning, bevelling, and fitting components together accurately as per design.
Use measuring tools (., tape measure, Vernier caliper, protractor) to ensure precise fitting.
Equipment Setup & Maintenance:
Set up, adjust, and operate various welding equipment (welding machines, torches, grinders, cutting tools) and related hand tools.
Adjust welding parameters (current, voltage, gas flow, travel speed) based on material type, thickness, and welding process.
Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting on welding equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Quality & Inspection:
Visually inspect welds for quality, straightness, adherence to specifications, and presence of defects.
Ensure that finished welds meet required aesthetic and structural quality standards.
Identify and report any issues with materials or equipment that may affect weld quality.
Safety & Housekeeping:
Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and industrial safety regulations.
Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring proper storage of tools and materials.
